Dr. Marije van Dalen is a postdoctoral researcher with an interest in paediatric psychology at the Erasmus MC Sophia Children’s Hospital, the Netherlands. She obtained her PhD in paediatric psychology in January 2022. Her postdoctoral research focuses on value-based health-care in children and young people with inflammatory bowel disease as well as the Grow It! app. This app focuses on improving coping of young people with a chronic health condition.

Her PhD focused on an online psychological intervention for adolescents with a visible difference, as well as the mental well-being of parents of children with a visible difference. To further develop her research skills, she spent three months at the Center for Appearance Research in Bristol, England
