Dr. Marije van Dalen is a postdoctoral researcher with an interest in paediatric psychology. She currently works at the Erasmus MC Sophia Children’s Hospital, the Netherlands. Her work focusses on using eHealth and mHealth interventions to study and improve mental well-being of children with a chronic somatic illness. She currently works on the Grow It! app, an RCT on a preventive intervention for children aged 10 to 18. She is also PI on a project studying experiences of parents expecting a child with a cleft lip.
She obtained her PhD in paediatric psychology in January 2022. Her PhD thesis focused on an online psychological intervention for adolescents with a visible difference, as well as the mental well-being of parents of children with a visible difference. As part of her PhD, she spent three months at the Center for Appearance Research in Bristol, England.
